Stephen J. Galli, MD is Chair and Professor of Pathology at Stanford University. He investigates the roles of mast cells and basophils in health and disease, including allergic disorders. He was President of the American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP, 2005-2006) and belongs to several honorary societies including the Collegium Internationale Allergologicum (serving as President from 2010-2014), the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei in Rome. In 2014, he received the Rous-Whipple Award of the ASIP and the Karl Landsteiner Medal of the Austrian Society of Allergology and Immunology.
