David B. Corry is a Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Corry's research is focused on immune mechanisms of human disease and his laboratory specializes in modeling human disease in mice. Current efforts are directed at understanding the fundamental immune basis of chronic airway diseases such as asthma and smoking-related emphysema. Discoveries from the Corry laboratory include the central roles played by CD4 T cells, the cytokines IL-4 and IL-13, the integrin LFA-1, microbial proteinases, and the fibrinogen-Toll like receptor 4 pathway in allergic disease; and the autoimmune basis of emphysema.
